The spark behind the Founder of over the game
What inspired you to found Over The Game?
“Ah, the moment is etched in my memory. On February 22nd 1981, my 14th birthday, my father took me to an optician, and I received two unexpected gifts: a Commodore 64 and a telescope. That day ignited my passion for both programming and, not just space, but the entire universe. While i longed to gaze at the stars, I found myself in my room, delving into BASIC programming. From that dream locked in my room and from the desire to turn those boundless aspirations into reality, Over The Game was born.”
a culture of unity and purpose
How would you describe Over The Game’s company culture? What values do you consider fundamental for your team’s success?
“A company is always driven by a vision, and while ethical standards may shift over time, the essene of human interaction remains. Our culture is a reach tapestry of individuals coming together to achieve a common goal: to give their best in this shared journey. Altruism, camaraderie, helping the weak become strong. For us, these are not just phrases, there are values embroided within a pearly necklace: united by a thread, ever enduring. This is how Over The Game was created: no excess, full integration. That’s what drives us as a team and me as the Founder of Over The Game”
the power of storytelling
What do you believe are the main powers of video games in engaging people and communicating important messages?
“Video games have several superpowers. Of these superpowers the most important one is: depth of story. A rich narrative immerse players, drawing them into the experience. The deeper the story, the more the player is involved. Daniel Pennac once said ”Truth is never found on the surface”. The story of a game is its surface, but to truly understand the message we want to share with the world you’ll need to go deeper, throughout several layer. In our games, we layer stories that invite players to dig deeper: hidden beneath the surface lies the message we want to convey, player must invest effort to uncover it. There’s something profound in that journey, and as the Founder of Over The Game, I encourage everyone to experience it for themselves through our games.”
social and educational impact
How do you think video games can contribute socially and educationally?
“I am convinced that video games improve well-being and encourage growht. It is our duty to demonstrate this throughout experiences that, not only challenge people to go beyond their own limits, but also help them discover a different, new world based on the one we live in so that together we may think on how we can change it for the better.”
the future of video games: insights from our founder
What are your predictions for the future of the video games’ industry? How does Over The Game plan to adapt?
“The essence of video games is the pursuit of pleasure, and I don’t see that changing. We’ll undoubtedly witness significant technological advancements, like quantum processor that could potentially revolutionize both gaming and our broader future, and Over The Game is committed to evolging alongside the industry giants while retaining its unique touch: our identity is strenght, and we have a very clear vision for our future. Unfortunately, someone told me not to talk too much if I want you to play our games, and I really do.”
